random things on thursday

This week’s RTOT is extra random.  It always makes me laugh a little when I’m finished with these posts because how in the world do I find these things? Anyway, on a completely unrelated note, we’ve been getting lots of questions about where Sydney went and why.  Her full-time work has really ramped up, so blogging is on the back burner for her at the moment.

Enjoy this week’s RTOT and please send us any fun/interesting/random articles you stumble upon!

  1. Do you dry brush? {You should be!} – I read this post last month that discussed why we should dry brush and was intrigued by the totally-new-to-me concept. It seems so simple and with alleged benefits of more hydrated and firm skin, all for under $10, sign me up! Plus, it’s week two of my new morning routine {waking up two hours earlier to workout and blog in the morning}, so anything to help a sista wake up!
  2. How to stop screwing yourself over with Mel Robbins – So, I’ve developed a minor obsession with Tedx Talks {and podcasts}. This one is a tough love talk about how many of us are hitting the metaphorical snooze button on our life and how simple it is to change.  I coincidentally listened to it the day before starting my morning routine and when the alarm went off all I could think of was Mel’s voice saying “What’s the first decision you made today? To go right back to sleep?”
  3. This clutch – How springy and perfect is this clutch? It would be so adorable with a white flowy dress or jeans and a tee shirt.
  4. Ramen!!! – I love ramen and I don’t discriminate, 3 minute ramen, fancy restaurant ramen, ramen salad. So obviously when I stumbled upon three easy recipes I had to share
  5. Spring cleaning your life – I mentioned this article briefly last week in my spring cleaning post but it’s an interesting perspective, so I’m saying it again. The article talks about cleaning your life just as you do your home, “this means getting rid of things that no longer work for you, updating the way you do things, and freeing up some space for new and exciting opportunities.” Amen, amen, amen.
  6. This bib is big and beautiful and 30% off.
  7. Should you DIY your taxes or hire a professional? – Because the finance-accounting part of me can’t resist…and because I had a conversation with a friend who was afraid to tackle her taxes on her own but ended up knocking it out in an hour! You go girl.
  8. Last but definitely not least, I found my true calling, which basically boils down to me becoming BFFs with Princess Kate.
  9. Currently listening to – When I get my hands on you by The New Basement Tapes // Currently reading – The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes but holy moly The Girl on the Train was such a good read!

Happy Thursday!
